it's way too big

i don't particuarily want to have to spend half an hour traipsing across the map only to find someone's moved their base and have to go all the way back, and if the solution to that is "stay in a small area", then that kind of ruins the point of having such a big map

Well some of us do want the "A hell of a lot of unoccupied space" because it lends towards the exploration, you can PM someone if you're looking for them, or even better, we could have vehicles, (Transport, but it ain't freakin' cheap) and licenses like we were GOING to implement on the server, it shouldn't be too hard to give someone a "License" flag that allows them to activate vehicles, right?

exploration can be done on maps like RP_Salvation and MD_Stalkerredux just fine.

We don't need 300 square miles of map we're never going to find, let alone use.

it's not like we'd never go to other maps. you'll have plenty of opportunities to explore.

and it's not like there wouldn't be unoccupied space on stalkerredux or salvation anyway.

Alright i'm gonna say salvation won, since it did.

NEXT UP:

FLAGS

i'm just thinking of:

Mercenary (has radio)
Mercenary 2 (has seperate radio)
Freelance mercenary (no radio)
Scientist
Traveler (equivalent of "citizen")
Trader
Weaponry merchant
Doctor
Colonial Military (only for use very VERY rarely or in events, military won't be a 24/7 presence)

And that's about it.

Any thoughts/suggestions/requests?

gm_construct on tiramisu.

My personal opinion is to not use TnB maps or something that looks overly apocalyptic or depressing. It'd be much more interesting to play in some sort of "ghost town", where the people are no longer there and things are on a state of decay because there's no one else to maintain them rather than something that looks war torn.

i kind of like the idea of a big map, as that allows people to build their OWN bases too. there could be a main settlement set up close to the spawn, and then people are free to wander off and set up their own encampments and occupy buildings.

but that could just be me.

I contemplated it when we first were looking for maps.

I'll look at it in detail and actually try it out this time instead of just judging from images.
